"Solothurners rush into the CBD business"

Bericht von 20min.ch, 27.11.2017

The CBD hemp business is booming. Whether it's an indoor system the size of a factory hall or a hemp subscription, producers in the canton of Solothurn are inventive.

It's legal, popular, and more and more companies are doing business with it: CBD hemp. There are now 410 companies registered throughout Switzerland that are involved in the cultivation or trade of low-THC cannabis, writes the "Bund". The number of companies in this field is increasing every day.

This is also the case in the canton of Solothurn, from where you can have the green herb sent home. Regular consumers have recently even been able to take out a CBD subscription via the hanfpost.ch website. The subscription includes one or two deliveries a week.

The offer was initiated by the 24-year-old Mike Roth, who runs the company from Selzach. But what do the neighbors think when the unmistakable smell of hemp rises from the mailbox? Nothing, because the packages are packed airtight and are not marked with any logo. The first parcels are already on their way to the customer, as Roth told the Solothurner Zeitung. The products sold come exclusively from certified suppliers in Switzerland. Cannabis can be obtained from Hanfpost.ch from CHF 9.90 for 1,4 grams.

β€œYoung entrepreneur delivers hemp directly to the customer's home - quite legally” -

Report by AZ Medien, November 27.11.2017, XNUMX

β€œHanfpost.ch” is the first online shop in Switzerland to deliver CBD hemp products to customers' homes by subscription. The 24-year-old Mike Roth from Selzach SO is behind this unusual idea.

You can now have pretty much anything delivered to your home. So why not legal CBD hemp too? This is what young entrepreneur Mike Roth probably thought when he launched his β€œHanfpost.ch” online shop. The special thing about it: In addition to CBD hemp flowers, hemp oils and accessories, it is the first online shop in Switzerland to also offer a CBD subscription. You can have the amount you want to consume conveniently delivered to your home. "My goal is to create added value for the customer," explains the 24-year-old Selzacher. For this reason there is neither a contract nor a notice period. "You can cancel the subscription at any time and without giving a reason."

Trade in CBD hemp is booming in Switzerland, with new shops opening almost every day. What made the 24-year-old jump on this bandwagon as well? β€œI recently finished my business studies and have been dealing with the boom in CBD hemp for a long time,” explains Roth. "That's when I got the idea of launching an online shop where customers can see everything at a glance and don't have to laboriously look for products on the Internet." With his hemp subscription, which is unique in Switzerland, he wants to stand out from the market of CBD hemp suppliers.

After obtaining all of the licenses necessary to sell CBD cannabis, his website went live eleven days ago. "It was a strange feeling to talk to the authorities about hemp," says Roth and laughs. "I read the mail a few times before I sent it." He's got used to it now. According to his own statements, he has already been able to send the first parcels - and the customers seem to like it. "So far I've received mostly positive feedback," he says.

With the CBD subscription, the young entrepreneur wants to bring his customers closer to the variety of flavors of cannabis.

Bringing closer to the variety of flavors of cannabis

Depending on the subscription variant, the consumer receives one or two deliveries a week, each with different types of flowers. Since legal cannabis falls under the Tobacco Ordinance, Roth has to adhere to certain regulations. β€œThat's why a product is analyzed in a laboratory before it goes on sale,” he explains. The products are checked for their THC, CBD and nicotine levels. "Thanks to this regulation, the consumer can be sure that he is receiving 100% legal cannabis." In addition, Roth purchases its products exclusively from certified Swiss suppliers.

That is sometimes a reason that his offer does not only appeal to a certain age group. β€œI recently had a 60-year-old customer who ordered from me,” says Roth. Certain trends are definitely noticeable: "Older people tend to prefer oils and processed products, while young people prefer flowers."

Hemp sent by post

Currently the most popular types of flowers are β€œWhite Widow” and β€œChronic”. "When choosing the varieties, I respond to the feedback from my customers and adapt the offer to their needs," explains Roth. Although the entrepreneur himself does not smoke, he has an explanation for the popularity of the varieties: "The name 'White Widow' is very well known among connoisseurs."

The parcels are usually sent by post. But aren't there any problems when the sweet smell of cannabis pours out of the mailbox? "There are actually still many prejudices against hemp, including against the legal CBD hemp," explains Roth. For this reason, the parcels are packed airtight and are not marked with the logo. "If necessary, you can also specify the day on which it should be delivered."
